Time Line: 60 min
Huddle (1-2 min):
- - Discussion: Opportunity In Lacrosse
- - Re-Hash: Skills Learned In Previous Weeks (Questions?) – Game (What Did They Like About It); Static Stretches (Who Did Them?)
Warm-Up (25 min):
- - Demo: Goaltending (See Fundamental Skill Analysis)
- - *Goaltending Drill #1- Goalie Stance & Rebound Control (Variation #1) - Corner Specific/Different Angles/Goalie Trap & Scoop
- - *Warm Up Drill #2- Board Shuttles (Variation #1B) - Set-Shot(Strong Hand) - Be Aware Of The Players' "Hand" Behind You
- - *Stickwork Drill #1- Wall Ball (Variation #1B) - "Pass Normal" (10m away) - "Dynamic Footwork"
*Run drills simultaneously while coaches warm up goalies
- - Dynamic Stretches - Try to find volunteers to demonstrate Stationary Dynamic Stretches that they remember
- - Water Break: 2 min
- - Demo: "Eyes Of The Stick"
- - Warm-Up Drill #4 - Semi Circle Shooting (Variation #2) – L to R/R to L (Outside & Inside)
Activity 1 (5 min):
- - Stickwork Drill #4 - Partner Passing On-The-Run (Variation #1A to #1C) - Wrong Side 1st/Proper-Side 2nd (Start With Goalie Pass) - "Staggered" then "Side-By-Side"
– One Side To The Other (Progressively Farther Away From Each Other)
– No Side Shuffling
Associated Drills (15 min):
- - Demo (2 min): Shooting On The Run – "Reach" Arms & "Rotate" Hips
- - Warm-Up Drill #5 - Snake Shooting (Variation #1 & #2) – High & Low
- - Water Break: 2 min
Activity 2 (10 min):
- - Goaltending Drill #3A - Breakaway Competition (Variation #2A) - Team Competition - 1 Shot Each (Shooter vs. Shooter + Team vs. Team)
Cool Down (2-3 min):
- - Static Stretches - Coach Implements Leg Routine – Distribute Upper Body Routine (How Many Players Did Static Stretches After Last Practice?)
