INTERMEDIATE SET PLAYS

7A. "North-South" Up-Pick (Point)

• The ball is passed from the point player to the weak-side shooter and the point player cuts to the middle, at the same time the strong-side shooter fills into the point position. 

• Instead of filling into the strong-side crease position, the original point player stops in the middle and up-picks (north-south) for the player who filled into the point position from the shooter position. 

• Before the pick arrives, the ball is passed to the weak-side crease player who engages their defender and ultimately passes to either the player being picked for (Option #1) or the roller (Option #2).  If neither option is available the strong-side crease player (off-ball) may also be open (Option #3).

7B. "North-South" Up-Pick (Weak-Side) 

• The point player passes to the weak-side shooter and then cuts through the middle, which also triggers the weak-side crease player to do a north-south up-pick.

• The shooter carries the ball to the outside lane once the pick arrives (Option #1) and the picker rolls to the middle lane (Option #2), while strong-side shooter fills into the point position (Option #3).
  

• Variation:  Another variation of this play is for the ball carrier to pass to the new point player (who is in the process of "filling") before the pick arrives, with the point player passing to either option coming off of the pick (off-ball instead of on-ball).
