INTERMEDIATE SET PLAYS

6C. "Empty - Shooter"

• The ball carrier at the crease takes a sweeping top-side cut on their defender once the other offensive player on the weak-side is standing on the top of their crease (on their proper floor-side). 

• The ball carrier shoots (Option #1 - top diagram) if they are able to get overtop of the pick from their teammate standing at the top of the crease (who "finesses the pick"). 

• If the ball carrier can't get over the pick they should be able to step-back or bull rush then step back, dragging for a shot.

• If both defenders go to the ball carrier, they make a dump pass to the picker, who rolls once the ball carrier runs by them (Option #2 - bottom diagram).
