Pre-Practice (Before 5:15 PM)
Shot Warm-up: Players should take hard shots on the boards, focusing on accuracy and picking their spots.
Warm-up (5:15 PM - 5:20 PM)
Shuffle/Cradle Drills: 5 minutes dedicated to fundamental warm-up movements, reinforcing stick skills.
Passing Down the Floor (5:20 PM - 5:30 PM): Set up 6 cone stations. Players will pass and follow their pass, emphasizing crisp, accurate feeds.
Catching/Loose Ball on the Run (5:30 PM - 5:40 PM): This drill involves a bounce/loose ball one way and a throw the other. Focus on players making good, strong shots after receiving the ball on the move.
Water Break (5:40 PM - 5:45 PM)
Defensive Work (5:45 PM - 6:10 PM)
Defensive Principles: Throughout these drills, emphasize not chasing, executing good cross-checks, and forcing opponents into bad shots.
Far End - 4 Corner One-on-One Drill: Player in the middle, takes a one on one from each corner.
Middle- Hit the Bag, chase loose ball - players will focus on proper hitting technique: getting low, maintaining a wide base, moving feet and avoiding lunging.
Close End - Players transition to defensive position from blue line. Set up. Coaches mimic another team in various scenarios: Passing to each spot, who has who, and then power play defence. (two on the ball)
Water Break (6:10 PM - 6:15 PM)
One-on-One from Blue Line (6:15 PM - 6:22 PM):
Defense: Reinforce not chasing, good cross-checks, and forcing bad shots.
Offense: Focus on taking good shots when they become available, moving the ball quickly, and keeping feet moving.
Two-on-One from Blue Line (6:22 PM - 6:30 PM):
Defense: Continue to emphasize not chasing, good cross-checks, and forcing bad shots.
Offense: Focus on making the right pass at the right time, taking good shots when available, avoiding holding the ball, and maintaining foot movement.
Wrap-up (6:30 PM)
