Games Drill #8: Jackpot (500 Up)
BEGINNER
- Divide the players into between 2 and 4 groups, of 3 to 5 per group. The majority of the group should be in a designated corner of the floor, with one identified "leader" standing somewhere between the restraining lines.
- The leader runs the game by calling out a number, between 50 and 500 (jackpot!), and then throws the ball towards the group as either a loose ball (Variation #1A) or a lob pass (Variation #1B). Whoever catches the ball gets the amount called out by the leader, added to their score; with a new leader being crowned upon reaching a score of 500.
- In the lob pass variation, if the ball is not caught in the air, a loose ball battle can still ensue for half of the original amount called out by the leader.
- *Most common error = minor interference amongst the players (make consequences for penalties)
