4-On-3 Triangle Play #2A (“Down-Pick – Give & Go”) & Play #2B (“Crease Overload”)
INTERMEDIATE POWER PLAYS
2A. Down Pick – "Give-And-Go"
- The ball-side shooter passes down to the same-side crease player (which triggers the start of the play) and receives a pass back.
- As the pass back is in the air, the off-ball shooter down-picks for the off-ball crease player and the crease player comes overtop the pick.
- The ball carrier then passes to the far-side crease player (Option #1), and afterwards cuts the middle for a potential give-and-go pass back for a quick stick in the middle (Option #2).
2B. Down Pick – "Crease Overload"
- Starting with one player at their wrong side crease position, the strong-side shooter with the ball passes to the opposite-side shooter then down-picks for the same-side crease player. The player on their wrong side should also start circling the net to their proper floor side crease position at this time.
- The off-ball crease player then comes overtop the pick (Option #2), while the player circling the net sneaks underneath the defender being picked (Option #1).
