5-On-5 Play #7G (“Slip Seal – Shooter”) & Play #7H (“Slip Seal – Point Player”)
INTERMEDIATE SET PLAYS
7G. "Slip Seal" - Shooter
- The strong-side crease player runs up to set a north-south up-pick on the strong-side shooter, which triggers the point player to also drag toward the strong-side shooter.
- As the point player starts to drag toward the strong-side shooter, this player seals the high defender (decoy), slipping overtop to the middle as the crease player arrives for their pick.
- The point player player either shoots coming around the seal (Option #2), passes to the player who slipped to the middle (Option #1), or passes to the off-ball crease player (Option #3).
7H. "Slip Seal" - Point Player
- The point player passes to the strong-side shooter, which triggers the strong-side crease player to run up for a north-south up-pick on the strong-side shooter.
- The point player does a brush pick on the strong-side shooter and then rolls to the middle (Option #1), while the strong-side shooter runs underneath the pick (Option #2) and the picker pops up into the shooter/point soft spot (Option #3).
- The off-ball crease player may also be an option here if all others are covered.
