6-On-5 Play #6A (“Double Down-Picks”) & Play #6B (“Double Up-Picks”)
INTERMEDIATE SET PLAYS
6A. "Double Down-Picks"
- The point player passes to the weak-side shooter and then picks for the strong-side crease player.
- The ball is then quickly passed low to the crease player who engages as the player in the middle seals for them.
- The ball carrier can pass to the far-side crease player coming overtop of the pick (Option #1), to the point player who rolls after they pick (Option #2), or to the off-ball shooter who fills into the point position (Option #3).
6B. "Double Up-Picks"
- The point player passes to the weak-side shooter which triggers the strong-side crease player to come up and seal for the strong-side shooter.
- The weak-side shooter quickly passes back to the point player, which triggers the middle player to pick for the weak-side shooter.
- The point player quickly passes to the strong-side shooter, with the strong-side shooter running underneath the seal and the weak-side shooter running overtop of the pick.
- The ball carrier can pass to the weak-side shooter (Option #1), to the middle player rolling after they pick (Option #2), or to the off-ball crease player who moves up into the soft spot for a quick stick shot (Option #3).
