The drill will start with an offensive player, with a ball, behind the net. A defender will be placed 1-1.5 yards off of their hip.
Place 4-5 cones across GLE in a curved line, with the peak of the curve approximately 2.5 yards above GLE.
Variation 1 - D w/o stick
Variation 2 - D w/ stick
The ball carrier will run towards GLE, attempting to gain top-side. The defender will run through the crease, attempting the cut off the ball carrier. The defender will use their footwork to make contact with the ball carrier 2 yards before GLE. Once the top-side has been denied, the defender will continue to drive the ball carrier to the sideline.
Once the ball carrier has been denied, they will then attempt to inside-roll. The defensive player must 'squeeze' the ball carrier back behind the cage as soon as they attempt an inside-roll.
